A cool Colored Metal Charm Tutorial!! (Photoshop)

Ive tried to simplify this process as much as I could.. By making the styles for you!! (feel free to change them to your liking)

Okay first things first.. Download The Attatched styles to your Styles directory

Location - C:\program files/adobe/photoshop/presets/styles

Then once you have done that you need to load them into your styles tool thingy..

Do this by going here

Once that is open hit the load new styles and look for CHARM STYLES

That's it your ready to go..



Lets begin

1.Open a new image 300 x 300 or whatever size you want..
If you making this for scraps then it would be around 800 x 800 300 DPI
but we are just testing it out so 300 x 300 72 DPI is just fine

2. Grab a preset shape.. I chose a star... Make it as big as you want ..

3. Now grab your magic wand tool select the inside of your preset shape..

4. Now go up to SELECT/MODIFY/CONTRACT-- set to 6

5. Go to Edit and CUT

NOW WE HAVE our outline!!!

6. Now click on the Style button that says Charm Outline Finished.. (if you just put your curser there it should say the name..)

Okay all done!! Well with the outside.. Hehehe

(feel free to edit this to your liking by right clicking on your layer and hitting the blending options..)


SECOND PART INSIDE

1.) Go to layer and create new layer..

2.) Now go back to your outline layer.. Grab your Magic wand and select the middle..

3) Now go back to the new layer you just created..and grab a color and fill...

4) Now its time to cheat.. LOL.. Layer styles rock.. And you can make your own once you get it the way you like it..

5) Okay so now you have filled now go back to the layers toolbar thingy.. And hit the one that says CHARM INSIDE
**again feel free to modify these settings by right clicking on your fill layer and hitting blending styles***


It should look something like this when your done..

Okay not don't go away last step.....

1)Create another new layer

2) Grab your eclipse tool.. And make a small circle about the size you would want for the charm holder thingy..

3.) Grab your magic wand tool again.. And select the inside of the of the circle you have created..

4) Go to SELECT/MODIFY/CONTRACT/3

5) go to edit and hit CUT

6) last we are back to the Style tool Bar thingy.. Hit the style that says Metal charm ring..

Now just move the circle to the top of the star and your all done!!!


* note feel free to mess with things get your feet wet.. That's what UNDO Is for.. LOL.. ***

*** there are variations to this.. You could use this to make different shape tags and fill with a paper and much more***
